Just interesting...one of those 'continuity' things... in this chapter, Dobby disappears from view multiple times, but never with a loud crack--not from the hedge or in the Dursley's kitchen area or later in the hospital wing while Harry's there--but for the rest of the series of books, that's how house elves apparate... with a loud crack; oh, they can also move around Hogwarts without making any sound. Curious...very curious! HW
Not just house elves. Everyone seems to make a loud noise when they apparate. Just think of the noise Harry hears at the beginning of book 5 and how he's certain it was someone disapparating. And yet Dumbledore is able to appear in the first chapter of the first book without a sound.
